Battery Box

A battery box does two jobs. It stops the battery moving, and it keeps everything else away from the terminals. In a boat, a caravan or a camper trailer both matter: an unrestrained battery is a heavy object with nothing holding it in a hard stop, and an exposed positive terminal will find a spanner eventually.

Pick the box by the battery case, not by the amp hours on the label. Two batteries of the same capacity can be different sizes, so measure the battery you have, or check the case size of the battery you are about to buy.

Our two standard boxes cover the common deep cycle sizes. The smaller one takes 70Ah, 85Ah and 95Ah batteries. The larger takes 100Ah, 130Ah and 160Ah. Both come with a webbing strap, tie down brackets and moulded carry handles, and both suit lead acid, AGM and lithium.

The Supersize is for anything that will not fit those, or for more than one battery. It is 532 mm long by 271 mm wide by 270 mm high inside. It also seals, and comes with a clamp and a steel reinforced breathing hose, so a gassing battery can sit inside the cabin or below deck and vent outside.

If you are not sure which one your battery will sit in, send us the make and model of the battery, or its case dimensions, and we will tell you which box it goes in.
