Connectors and Terminals
Anderson plugs, cable lug terminals, ferrule connectors, narrow high current terminals and the bus bars that tie them together.
Anderson plugs are the standard for high current transfer. They are genderless, so both ends of a connection are the same part and you never have to work out which end goes where. The contacts are silver plated copper and force together hard, which is what keeps the resistance across the joint low. We have them at 50A and 175A in grey and 350A in red, all rated to 600V. Two plugs will only mate if the colours match, so order both ends in the same colour. There is a handle for the 175A and 350A, and a dust cover for the 350A to keep dirt out of the contacts when a plug is sitting unmated.
Cable lug terminals are sold singly. Pure electrical copper with a tin coating for corrosion resistance, and you can crimp or solder them. Five sizes, 4, 16, 35, 50 and 95 mm2, carrying 16A up to 400A. The eye is sized for your bolt, M4 up to M12 depending on the terminal.
Every cable lug and narrow terminal here carries two current figures, a continuous one and a higher one at 60% duty cycle. The higher figure is what it will take when the load is intermittent rather than constant. If you are not sure which applies, size on the continuous figure.
The narrow high current terminals come as a pair. 4.5 mm thick pure electrical red copper in 70 mm2 and 95 mm2, both 400A continuous. The narrow body is the whole point, it gets into places a standard lug will not fit. The closed end keeps the damp and the dirt out of the cable, which matters on anything living outside.
A bus bar is where you land several cables on one common point instead of stacking lug on lug on a battery post. Fewer joints on the terminal, less resistance, and a much tidier job to fault find later. The 150A takes 150 Amps at 48V DC or 130 Amps at 300V AC across four M8 and six M4 posts. The 300A takes 300 Amps at 48V across four M8 posts, in nickel plated brass, with a blank label on the lid so you can write what each circuit feeds. Both come in black or red and mount in any orientation with the screws supplied. We also stock a metre of solid pure electrical copper bar rated to 1500 Amps for building your own.
Everything in this category carries a 2 year warranty.
