Battery Racking
Steel racking that holds a battery bank off the floor and keeps it where you put it.
Eight large batteries loose on a floor can be a problem waiting to happen. They are heavy, the terminals are live, and nothing stops them sliding or being tripped over. A rack puts each one in its own space, up off the floor, and holds the whole bank still.
There are two kitsets. The Battery Rack 4 takes four large batteries, the size of a 300AH NOMAD E2 or 220AH NOMAD C2, and it is 560 mm long by 657 mm wide by 810 mm high. Its lower level is 500 mm by 595 mm by 410 mm inside, so measure the case of the battery you are putting in rather than going by the amp hours. The Battery Rack 8 takes eight and is 1200 mm long by 800 mm wide by 650 mm high. Both will also take smaller or differently shaped batteries, including 2V and 6V cells.
Everything is thick powdercoated steel. The 4 weighs 13 kg and the 8 weighs 25 kg, and either one goes together in less than ten minutes.
Both are suitable for earthquake proofing. It is one hole in each leg into a floor fixture, and the bank is not going anywhere. Put wheels on the legs instead and you have a bank you can roll out to work on and roll back in.
If you are not sure which rack your batteries fit, send us the make and model, or the case dimensions, and we will tell you.
