Description

This is our top of the line 5000 watt pure sine wave inverter with build in charger (45A for 24V) from PASSPOWER, designed to be able to handle charging large banks of battery’s.  It charges your batteries in 4 distinct stages, minimising charging time and maximising battery life.  It has battery selector switch, for optimising charging of 7 different types of batteries e.g. USA Gel, Euro Gel, Lead Acid. And includes a de-suphanisation mode as well.

 

The AC connections are a terminal strip type power connector, designed for transferring very high amounts of current safely (up to 50A).

 

It is CPU controlled and includes UPS function so for example when you moor your boat and plug into shore power, it will power your boat directly, without having to convert the power from AC to DC and then back to AC, saving you wear on the inverter and not wasting any power.  It consumes less than 25w of power while idle when powersave mode is activated.

 

This Unit has NEUTRAL-TO-GROUND BOND SWITCHING via an automatic onboard relay.  Making it compatible with compliance for all vehicle and marine fixed inverter installations in New Zealand,  e.g. eWOF

The purpose for this function is to ensure that all the neutral conductors are connected (bonded) to a single ground point in a three-wire (hot, neutral and ground) AC system. This prevents a voltage difference from developing between the vehicle/boat’s AC neutral and the external AC source’s (generator or shore power) neutral, which may cause an electric shock or cause temperamental  tripping of RCD’s.

When the unit is operating as an inverter (e.g. with out external AC power connected), the AC output neutral will be connected or “bonded” to the chassis ground.

When an external AC source is provided at the AC input terminals, the inverter’s AC output neutral will be disconnected from chassis ground and allow the ‘bond’ to be provided by the external AC source.
